Attracting Workers

Attract workers by knowing what they want and offering it:

• Learn what your employees value about working for the Company.
• Ask yourself, why would someone good at what s/he does want to work for your Company?
• Treat employees with respect, give regular performance feedback and the opportunity to learn new things. Satisfied, enthusiastic employees are the best marketers of your organization as a good place to work
• Know which Companies are your competitors for employees and what they offer.
• Provide a safe work environment and quality leadership and supervision.
• Make the work as personally rewarding as you can.
• If the work is suitable and the supervision is in place, provide internships for young workers, for immigrants preparing for work in Canada, for workers with disabilities or for Aboriginal people.
